Electron app development services

Electron app development services for cross-platform desktop apps on Windows, macOS and Linux: desktop versions of web products, productivity and communication apps, internal tools, auto-update, code signing and notarisation, native modules, security reviews and Electron upgrades, and migrations to Electron or Tauri, with dedicated Electron developers for your team or an app delivered end to end.

What we build with Electron

  • Desktop versions of web products

An existing React, Angular or Vue application turned into a Windows, macOS and Linux app that shares its components with the web product, with offline storage, tray menus, notifications, file access and deep links added where the desktop needs them.

  • Cross-platform desktop apps in Electron

New desktop products in TypeScript, scaffolded with Electron Forge and Vite, with a small main process, heavy work in utility processes and local data in SQLite, for productivity, communication, design and developer tools.

  • Auto-update and release channels

Updates delivered through electron-updater, update.electronjs.org or your own update server, with stable and beta channels, staged rollouts, differential downloads and a way back to the previous version, published by a pipeline from main.

  • Code signing and notarisation

Windows builds signed through Azure Artifact Signing, formerly Trusted Signing, or an EV certificate held in a cloud HSM, and macOS builds signed with a Developer ID, hardened runtime and notarised by Apple through @electron/notarize, so installers open without the warnings an unsigned app triggers.

  • Native modules and system integration

Node-API modules in C++, or in Rust through napi-rs, rebuilt for each Electron version with @electron/rebuild and shipped as prebuilt binaries, for printers, USB and serial devices, and operating system APIs that JavaScript cannot reach.

  • Electron security reviews

Context isolation and sandboxed renderers with Node.js integration off, a content security policy, the sender of every IPC message validated, custom protocols in place of file://, and Electron Fuses set at build time, checked against Electron’s own security checklist.

  • Electron version upgrades

Apps on unsupported releases moved to a current one. Electron ships a major version every eight weeks and supports only the latest three, so upgrades are planned as routine work, with removed APIs such as the old remote module replaced along the way.

  • Migrations to Electron

Older desktop software in WinForms, WPF, Java Swing, NW.js or Adobe AIR rebuilt in Electron screen by screen, or a web app given a desktop shell, with users’ data and settings carried across.

  • Moves from Electron to Tauri

Electron apps moved to Tauri 2 when installer size and memory use matter: the web interface kept, main-process code rewritten in Rust or run as a Node.js sidecar, and system access limited to what Tauri’s capability files grant.

Hire Electron developers

  • Dedicated Electron developers

Electron developers who join your team full time, work in your repositories, tracker and meetings, and report to your lead. You interview them; we carry the Ukrainian contract, payroll, invoicing and leave.

  • Electron project delivery

A team that takes the Electron project from scope to release: estimate, build, tests and deployment, with a technical lead on our side who owns the plan and the quality.

  • Electron support and take-overs

An existing Electron system taken over from another team or kept running: a read-only review and a written list of risks first, then fixes and new features in order of impact.

The dedicated team page explains how specialists join your team, and the outsourcing page covers project delivery, take-overs and how we charge.

How we work on Electron

TypeScript in strict mode on current Electron releases, the renderer treated as untrusted with no direct Node.js access, end-to-end tests through Playwright’s Electron support on every target operating system, and builds, signing and notarisation run by a pipeline with the signing keys in a cloud service, never on a developer’s laptop.

Developers work in your repositories, your tracker and your process. The Ukrainian contract, payroll, invoicing and leave stay with us, and everything they write is assigned to you.

Questions about Electron development

Which industries do your Electron developers work in?

Mostly SaaS and business software, with desktop versions of web products, internal tools and communication apps. Then fintech, with trading terminals and banking back-office tools; e-commerce and retail, with point-of-sale and seller tools; healthcare, with clinic and imaging workstations; AI and data products, with desktop assistants and analytics tools; and media and education, with editing, recording and learning apps.

Electron or Tauri?

Electron when the app needs the full Node.js ecosystem and the same Chromium on every system, so it renders identically everywhere. Tauri when installer size and memory use matter more, since it uses the operating system’s own web view and a Rust core. Our own desktop agent is written in Rust and runs on Windows, macOS and Ubuntu.

Can you take over an existing Electron app?

Yes. It starts with a read-only review of the Electron version, the security settings, native modules and the release setup, written up as a list of risks, then upgrades to a supported Electron release, each step released on its own.

How quickly can Electron developers start?

When the right Electron developer is available, the start is gated only by your interview and the NDA and IP assignment. Otherwise we run a search, which typically produces candidate profiles within two to three weeks, and nobody starts until you have said yes.

How do we hire Electron developers through BigTree108?

Tell us the work, the seniority and the hours you need. We propose one or two people with their profiles, you interview them the way you would interview your own hire, and you sign one agreement with BIG TREE 108 LLC and receive one invoice a month.

Who owns the work they produce?

You do. Every specialist has a signed contract with BigTree108 that assigns all work product to the company, and our agreement with you assigns it onward. Code, designs and documents are delivered into your own repositories and tools, not kept where only we can change them.

Building or maintaining an Electron app?

Tell us the platforms, the Electron version and what needs to change. You get an answer within one business day: a plan, candidate profiles, or a review of the existing app.
