Rust development services

Rust development services for backend services and APIs, blockchain and Web3, systems and infrastructure software, security tooling, data and AI infrastructure, embedded firmware, WebAssembly, and desktop and command-line applications, with dedicated Rust developers for your team or a Rust project delivered end to end.

What we build with Rust

  • Backend services and APIs

HTTP and gRPC services on Tokio with Axum, Actix Web or tonic, PostgreSQL through SQLx and OpenTelemetry tracing, for payment, trading and high-traffic APIs where latency, memory or the cost per request matter.

  • Blockchain and Web3

Solana programs with Anchor, Substrate and Polkadot runtimes, EVM tooling in Rust such as Reth and Alloy, zero-knowledge proof systems, and the indexers, wallets and exchange back ends around them.

  • Systems and infrastructure software

Proxies, network services, storage engines, observability agents and Kubernetes operators built with kube-rs, where performance has to be predictable and garbage-collector pauses are not acceptable.

  • Security tooling and cryptography

Scanners, sandboxes, network inspection and endpoint agents in memory-safe code, with cryptography built on audited crates such as RustCrypto, ring and rustls rather than hand-written primitives.

  • Data and AI infrastructure

High-throughput pipelines with Polars, Apache Arrow, DataFusion and Kafka consumers, and model inference served with Candle or ONNX Runtime, where Python or the JVM costs too much compute.

  • Embedded Rust and firmware

Firmware on Embassy, RTIC and embedded-hal for STM32, Nordic nRF, ESP32 and Raspberry Pi RP2040 and RP2350 microcontrollers, and Rust services on embedded Linux.

  • WebAssembly

Rust compiled to WebAssembly for heavy work in the browser, such as image processing, editors and simulations, and for server-side components on Wasmtime and WASI or at the edge on Cloudflare Workers.

  • Desktop and command-line applications

Cross-platform desktop software in Slint, Tauri or egui and command-line tools built with clap, each shipped as one self-contained binary per platform, the way our own laptop agent for Windows, macOS and Ubuntu is built.

  • Rust inside existing systems

Python extensions with PyO3 and maturin, Node.js add-ons with napi-rs and a C ABI for .NET, C and C++, or memory-unsafe C and C++ modules replaced one at a time behind a stable interface, with benchmarks and shared tests before and after.

Hire Rust developers

  • Dedicated Rust developers

Rust developers who join your team full time, work in your repositories, tracker and meetings, and report to your lead. You interview them; we carry the Ukrainian contract, payroll, invoicing and leave.

  • Rust project delivery

A team that takes the Rust project from scope to release: estimate, build, tests and deployment, with a technical lead on our side who owns the plan and the quality.

  • Rust support and take-overs

An existing Rust system taken over from another team or kept running: a read-only review and a written list of risks first, then fixes and new features in order of impact.

The dedicated team page explains how specialists join your team, and the outsourcing page covers project delivery, take-overs and how we charge.

Who works on your Rust project

  • Rust developers

Backend, blockchain, systems and WebAssembly Rust

  • Embedded and firmware engineers

Rust on microcontrollers and embedded Linux

  • .NET, Python and front-end engineers

The services and web front ends a Rust component plugs into

  • DevOps engineers

    Pipelines, cross-compilation and releases

  • QA engineers

Test plans and automation around each release

How we write Rust

The build enforces the rules: Clippy’s pedantic set plus restriction lints chosen for the project, warnings as errors in CI, cargo-deny for dependency licences and security advisories, a pinned toolchain, and cross-compilation checks for every target platform. Unsafe code is kept to small, documented blocks.

Tests are expected to catch something: property-based tests for inputs that cannot be listed, fuzzing for anything that parses untrusted data, and mutation testing with cargo-mutants to find tests that pass whatever the code does. Our own Rust products run under these rules, and on your project we bring them or follow the conventions your team already has.

Questions about Rust development

What can you build in Rust?

Backend services and APIs, blockchain programs and Web3 back ends, systems and infrastructure software, security tooling, data pipelines and inference services, firmware for microcontrollers, WebAssembly modules, desktop applications, command-line tools, and Rust libraries inside Python, Node.js and .NET systems. If your project is in Rust, we provide the developers for it.

Which industries do your Rust developers work in?

Blockchain and Web3, from on-chain programs to exchanges and wallets; fintech and trading, where latency is money; cloud and network infrastructure; cybersecurity products; data and AI platforms; and embedded and IoT devices.

Do you use Rust yourselves?

Yes. Our own products include a desktop agent that checks Windows 11, macOS and Ubuntu machines against our security baseline, with every check mapped to ISO 27001, CIS, Cyber Essentials, Essential Eight and SOC 2, and a time-tracking desktop app, both built on shared crates for portal sign-in, interface components and translations.

Can you take over an existing Rust codebase?

Yes. It starts with a read-only review of unsafe blocks, panics on untrusted input, dependency advisories and licences, and test coverage, written up as a list of risks in order of impact before anything changes.

How quickly can Rust developers start?

When the right Rust developer is available, the start is gated only by your interview and the NDA and IP assignment. Otherwise we run a search, which typically produces candidate profiles within two to three weeks, and nobody starts until you have said yes.

How do we hire Rust developers through BigTree108?

Tell us the work, the seniority and the hours you need. We propose one or two people with their profiles, you interview them the way you would interview your own hire, and you sign one agreement with BIG TREE 108 LLC and receive one invoice a month.

Who owns the work they produce?

You do. Every specialist has a signed contract with BigTree108 that assigns all work product to the company, and our agreement with you assigns it onward. Code, designs and documents are delivered into your own repositories and tools, not kept where only we can change them.
