Oracle Database and PL/SQL development and administration

Oracle Database and PL/SQL development and administration: PL/SQL packages and SQL tuning, Oracle APEX applications, RAC, Data Guard and RMAN, upgrades to Oracle AI Database 26ai, Exadata and OCI databases, and migrations to and from Oracle, with dedicated Oracle developers and DBAs for your team or an Oracle project delivered end to end.

What we build with Oracle

  • PL/SQL development

Packages, procedures, triggers and batch jobs in PL/SQL for billing, accounting and other core business logic, refactored into small units tested with utPLSQL, kept in Git and deployed through SQLcl and Liquibase rather than by hand.

  • Oracle SQL tuning

Slow statements found in AWR and ASH reports and execution plans, then fixed with indexes, rewrites, fresh statistics, partitioning or SQL plan baselines, with timings compared before and after on the same data.

  • Oracle administration

Quarterly Release Updates applied on a tested schedule, space, sessions and alert logs watched, users and profiles managed, and Oracle Enterprise Manager or your own monitoring raising an alert before users notice a problem.

  • Oracle APEX applications

Internal applications, dashboards and customer portals built in Oracle APEX 26.1 on the data already in your database, REST APIs published through Oracle REST Data Services, and Oracle Forms applications rebuilt in APEX screen by screen.

  • RAC, Data Guard and RMAN

Real Application Clusters for availability within a site, Data Guard standby databases in a second site or cloud region, and RMAN backups with restores rehearsed on a schedule against recovery targets agreed with you.

  • Upgrades to Oracle AI Database 26ai

Databases on 19c and 21c upgraded directly with AutoUpgrade, and 11g, 12c and 18c through an intermediate 19c step, with non-CDB databases converted to pluggable databases on the way and the application retested before the cut-over.

  • Exadata and Oracle Cloud databases

Exadata Database Service, Autonomous AI Database and Base Database Service on OCI, Exadata and Autonomous AI Database inside Azure, AWS and Google Cloud through Oracle’s multicloud services, and Exadata Cloud@Customer in your own data centre, with moves planned in Zero Downtime Migration.

  • Migrations to and from Oracle

Oracle moved to PostgreSQL with ora2pg or to SQL Server with SQL Server Migration Assistant, other databases moved into Oracle, and on-premises Oracle moved to OCI or Exadata with Data Pump and GoldenGate, each rehearsed on a copy and reconciled table by table.

  • Oracle security and licence hygiene

Least-privilege roles, unified auditing, Transparent Data Encryption and Data Redaction for sensitive columns, Database Vault where administrators must not read the data, and an inventory of the options and packs in use so a licence review holds no surprises.

Hire Oracle developers and DBAs

  • Dedicated Oracle developers and DBAs

Oracle developers and DBAs who join your team full time, work in your repositories, tracker and meetings, and report to your lead. You interview them; we carry the Ukrainian contract, payroll, invoicing and leave.

  • Oracle project delivery

A team that takes the Oracle project from scope to release: estimate, build, tests and deployment, with a technical lead on our side who owns the plan and the quality.

  • Oracle support and take-overs

An existing Oracle system taken over from another team or kept running: a read-only review and a written list of risks first, then fixes and new features in order of impact.

The dedicated team page explains how specialists join your team, and the outsourcing page covers project delivery, take-overs and how we charge.

How we work on Oracle

PL/SQL is treated as application code: packages live in Git, changes are reviewed and deployed by the pipeline through SQLcl and Liquibase, and utPLSQL tests run against a real database before each release. Cloud resources are defined in Terraform, so an environment can be rebuilt from what is written down.

An inherited Oracle estate starts with read-only access and a written list of risks: versions and patch levels, backups and the last tested restore, the heaviest SQL in AWR, who holds DBA rights, and which licensed options are switched on. Changes reach production after a rehearsal on a copy with masked data.

Questions about Oracle development

Which industries do your Oracle developers work in?

Banking, insurance and fintech, for core banking, billing and regulatory reporting; enterprise software and ERP, for line-of-business systems with decades of data; healthcare, for hospital and laboratory systems; retail and e-commerce, for orders, stock and pricing; telecom, for billing and customer records; and logistics, manufacturing and energy companies whose operations run on Oracle.

Which databases can you migrate to and from Oracle?

Oracle to PostgreSQL, to SQL Server or to a managed cloud database such as Amazon Aurora or Azure Database for PostgreSQL; other databases into Oracle; and on-premises Oracle to OCI, Exadata or Oracle’s services inside Azure, AWS and Google Cloud. Schema and code are converted with tooling and finished by hand, data moves in rehearsed runs, and every table is reconciled before the switch.

Can you help us stay within our Oracle licences?

We keep an inventory of the editions, options and management packs each database uses, so features that need a licence are not switched on by accident, and that inventory supports your own licence review. Commercial terms stay between you and Oracle.

How quickly can Oracle developers and DBAs start?

When the right Oracle developer or DBA is available, the start is gated only by your interview and the NDA and IP assignment. Otherwise we run a search, which typically produces candidate profiles within two to three weeks, and nobody starts until you have said yes.

How do we hire Oracle developers and DBAs through BigTree108?

Tell us the work, the seniority and the hours you need. We propose one or two people with their profiles, you interview them the way you would interview your own hire, and you sign one agreement with BIG TREE 108 LLC and receive one invoice a month.

Who owns the work they produce?

You do. Every specialist has a signed contract with BigTree108 that assigns all work product to the company, and our agreement with you assigns it onward. Code, designs and documents are delivered into your own repositories and tools, not kept where only we can change them.

Running Oracle?

Tell us the versions, the options in use and what has to change. You get an answer within one business day: a plan, candidate profiles, or a scope for a health check of your Oracle estate.
